Gradwell Park retirement village, based in South Chailey, is seeking a Housekeeper to work on a zero-hour contract. This is a Bank Position, covering sickness and holidays as needed.

As a Housekeeper at our retirement village, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of residents\’ homes and communal areas.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing regular cleaning tasks in residents\’ apartments, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Providing the highest standards of cleanliness and service.
- Keeping communal areas such as lounges, dining areas, and hallways clean and presentable.
- Fostering and maintaining good relationships with residents.
- Reporting any faulty or damaged equipment, laundry, or machinery to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Undertaking the washing and ironing of bedding, table linen, towels, and garments, ensuring all instructions are followed.
- Upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the village.
- Using the correct cleaning products and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers.
- Ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Complying with all legislative requirements and policies related to Health and Safety at Work.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in residential or hospitality settings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor.
- Sensitivity to the needs and preferences of older adults.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
