Mayford Grange Retirement Village based in Woking is looking for an Maintenance Operative to join the team on a Bank contract. This position will be to cover any holiday/sickness within the team so we require candidates to be flexible with their working hours/pattern.
As an Maintenance Operative in our retirement village, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall well-being and satisfaction of our residents by maintaining and enhancing the physical environment of the community. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing residents\’ service requests, and assisting in various projects to create a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing living space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and common areas
- Ensure proper functioning of lighting, elevators and emergency systems
- Address and resolve residents\’ maintenance requests promptly and efficiently
- Ensure outdoor furniture and amenities are clean and in good condition
- Communicate effectively with residents and staff regarding maintenance schedules, disruptions, and planned activities
- Ensure that all open areas of the grounds, including grassed areas, beds, woodlands, boundary fences, roadways, paths, and paved areas are properly maintained to a high standard
- To report immediately any defects or faults which may compromise the safety of residents
- Undertake regular inspections and monthly checks of the Village with the Facilities Manager
- Painting and decorating
- Responsible for treating roads and pathways with salt/grit when necessary during winter months
- Ensure the structure, fixtures, fittings, and equipment of the Village are properly maintained
