Overview
Gradwell Park retirement village in South Chailey is seeking a Housekeeper to work a zero-hour contract. This is a Bank Position as and when work arises – covering sickness and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular cleaning tasks in residents\’ apartments, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
- Provide the highest standards of cleanliness and service at all times.
- Keep communal areas such as lounges, dining areas, and hallways clean and presentable.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with residents.
- Report any faulty or damaged equipment, laundry, or machinery to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Undertake washing and ironing of bedding, table linen, towels, and garments as instructed, following washing and ironing instructions.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the village.
- Use the correct cleaning products and equipment as instructed by manufacturers.
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Comply with all legislative requirements and local and company-wide policies and procedures relating to health and safety at work.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a residential or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanour.
- Sensitivity to the needs and preferences of older adults.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
