Here at Retirement Villages we are growing the team and on the lookout for a General Manager for our Retirement Village in Honiton - Gittisham Hill Park. You will be leading a team in a development where we work together to create an environment where older people can age well, build friendships and feel part of a community.
This is a part time role working 27.5 hours per week (typically 5.5 hours per day Monday - Friday), although due to the nature of the business, candidates will need to have some flexibility.
You will actively manage and deepen relationships with our Residents and customers from the wider community, providing an excellent customer experience throughout the Village. It drives excellence in hospitality standards, maximises revenue and controls cost effectively, and creates a continuous improvement culture to meet current and future Resident and customer needs.
Running a Business- Develops and implements the Asset Business Plan and operational delivery plan for a strategically significant retirement Village operation.
- Identifies and communicates clearly the actions needed to implement RVG strategy and business plan for the Village; provides colleagues with a clear view of how operational plans support RVG's mission, vision and values.
- Sets operational priorities and targets; analyses performance and motivates people to deliver operational excellence.
- Leads the development and implementation of Village facilities management plans, protecting RVG's position as best in class facilities provider.
- Understands, upholds and contributes to creating a safety-first culture within RVG. Ensures a safe, compliant and healthy environment for Residents, colleagues and the wider community.
- Leads mobilisation activity for newbuild or large-scale Village development plans and Landlord Improvement Plans.
- Project manages significant investment projects to improvements facilities.
- Provides an excellent customer experience throughout operational delivery, leading by example to manage and deepen Resident and customer relationships.
- Drives effective use of hospitality systems and processes to maximise, track and manage income.
- Ensures the Wellbeing Team are providing a comprehensive programme of events that engage and excite our Residents, optimising revenue through external sales and memberships.
- Ensures our third-party care providers are operating to standard, equipping our Residents to live independently and confidently for longer.
- Always ensures adequate, effective and qualified emergency response.
- Implements and drives standard work and continuous improvement; builds confidence and capability of teams to make sound operational decisions and manage their own work standards.
- Sets individual and team performance targets aligned to overall RVG business goals and holds the team accountable for achieving these.
- Evaluates the capabilities of team members and uses RVG's formal development framework to identify team and prioritise individual development needs.
- 3-6 years of general management experience defining, planning, managing and organising resources in line with business strategy for short and medium time scales.
- Significant general operational experience, providing expert competence.
- Plans and prioritises work to meet commitments aligned to RVG goal.
- Builds strong Resident and customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
- Sees ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies.
- Makes good and timely decisions that keep RVG moving forward.
- Interprets and applies key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
- Applies knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance RVG's goals.
