Our beautiful Retirement Village in Abbotskerswell, Devon, is looking for a Chef/Cook to work 5 days a week - 22.5 hours per week - between £14.00 - £14.50 per hour. Our village is in a stunning countryside location with the main building being a converted Augustinian Priory built in 1861.
We are looking for:
- Sunday - Thursday - 10am until 2.30pm
As Chef, you will play a key role in all aspects of kitchen management, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation. You will ensure the highest standards of food quality and service delivery. Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for enriching the lives of our residents through food is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and cooking of high-quality meals following established recipes and portion controls
- Ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work alone with Front of House support
- Maintain stock levels and control food costs
- Uphold a positive and professional approach with residents, staff, and visitors
Requirements:
- Cooking skills essential, working in a commercial kitchen preferred but training can be provided for the right person
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors is advantageous
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Due to the location of our village, the successful candidate will need to have their own transport
