Duties include working closely with directorate management teams and their directorates providing finance business partnering services. As a trusted advisor you will provide sound analysis and advice and offer valuable insights which will guide and support key decision making at the highest levels. This influential role will really put you in the driving seat, giving you the ability to shape the finance business partner offer and adding real value to key stakeholders including elected members, executive directors, directors and senior managers/budget holders.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct and draw support from a team of accountants (up to 20 staff), reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering and working as part of a wider team with other Finance Business Partners and colleagues in Corporate Finance.
- Support a community with over 350,000 residents, 600 services and a workforce of over 12,000 staff including over 100 maintained schools; the finance service includes a business partnering team with over 50 team members.
- Provide finance business partnering services to directorate management teams and their directorates, acting as a trusted advisor with sound analysis and advice to guide key decisions.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Finance business partnering experience welcomed.
- Experience in public sector finance or equivalent is preferred.
Work Arrangements
The council offers hybrid working, requiring you to attend the office at County Hall, Beverley for a minimum of one day per week.
