The Company: I am working exclusively with a boutique executive search firm that is continuing its strategic growth, expanding its high-performing team from 15 to 18 consultants. The firm operates at the very top end of the market and is renowned for delivering retained search mandates for leading hedge funds and investment firms. This represents a rare opportunity to work closely with some of the most successful consultants in the industry, each consistently generating £1.2 million+ in annual revenue and operating as trusted advisors to senior investment leaders. You will benefit from direct, hands-on training and long-term mentorship from the Directors, who collectively bring over 50 years of executive search experience. Their expertise spans multiple market cycles and complex senior-level mandates, providing you with a deep understanding of best-in-class search methodology. From day one, you will be immersed in the Hedge Fund market, developing specialist knowledge of fund structures, investment strategies and talent landscapes. This will enable you to confidently advise clients at a senior level and discreetly headhunt elite investment professionals across the US, UK and Europe.
The Role: As an Executive Search Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering retained search assignments for hedge fund clients. This is a research-intensive, client-facing role requiring attention to detail, commercial awareness and strong relationship management skills.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of the hedge fund landscape, including fund strategies, performance trends, team structures and competitor activity, to produce high-quality market intelligence and provide strategic insight that supports client decision-making.
- Market Mapping: Build comprehensive market maps by identifying leading hedge funds, investment platforms, portfolio management teams and key decision-makers, clearly outlining organisational structures and pinpointing relevant senior-level talent pools across global markets.
- Candidate Sourcing: Proactively identify, approach and engage high-calibre investment professionals through targeted headhunting, proprietary databases, professional networks and referral channels, ensuring a discreet and thorough search process aligned with client requirements.
- Client Reporting: Deliver detailed client reports that include market mapping findings, longlists and shortlists of qualified candidates, as well as clear, regular progress updates throughout the lifecycle of each retained search assignment.
