We are looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our team. The Payroll Accountant is responsible for managing and processing the company’s payroll, ensuring accurate and timely compensation to employees while maintaining compliance with applicable tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies. This role also supports financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits related to payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  • In charge of monthly payroll processing (multiple countries such as CH, EMEA and USA) in collaboration with the payroll service provider.
  • Review and confirm the accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions and deductions provided by the payroll service provider.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and statutory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor and tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR regarding employee changes (new hires, terminations, benefits, salary adjustments).
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Generate payroll reports for management and finance teams.
  • Manage payroll system updates and improvements.
  • Point of contact for employee T&E reimbursement and company’s travel bookings.
  • Manage the employee travel booking platform.
  • Assist with payroll and other finance related projects.
  • Implementation of new payroll processes and platforms.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll/HR or accounting roles.
Language: Fluency in English, German is a plus.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of international payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws. Experience with payroll software and accounting systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Experience with multi-state or international payroll.
Core Competencies: Self starter, proactive and independent personality. High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Software skills: Google Workspace (including Gemini), Microsoft Excel, Travel management systems (e.g., BizAway, Navan).
Plus: In-depth knowledge of US Payroll regulations.
