Your role:

Rethink Mental Illness are an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. We are looking for an experienced and passionate BANK Mental Health Support Worker to join our Field View service team, Grimsby. Field View Crisis accommodation offers 4 Crisis beds for people experiencing mental health problems or mental illness. It provides support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The maximum stay for Crisis beds is 7 nights. This service also offers emotional support to over 16’s through a helpline.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Assist individuals with mental illness in rebuilding confidence and engaging in daily activities.
  • Work closely with service users to help them achieve personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey.
  • Provide key worker support, including one-on-one guidance and coordination with mental health agencies.
  • Focus on individual needs, utilising communication, motivation, and coaching to help service users reach their goals.
  • Build respectful, honest relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.

Essential Experience, Skills Required For This Role:

  • Transferable life/work experience to apply to this role.
  • Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient and willing to learn.
  • Demonstrate behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity.
