Your role:

Rethink Mental Illness are hiring a BANK Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at The Mead, Warminster. The Mead provides 24-hour support for individuals with mental illness, aiming to help them live fulfilling lives. Each resident is supported by trained support staff, through personalised support to achieve goals like education, daily-living skills, medication management, and self-confidence. The service is person-centred and focuses on helping residents become independent and transition to lower support services or their own accommodation.

Overview of a Mental Health Recovery Worker Role:

As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will offer people affected by mental illness the support and help they need to regain their confidence and get involved in everyday social and workplace activities. You will be working closely with service users to achieve their own personal goals and access all the support they need on their recovery journey.

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • You may have experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Transferable Life/Work Experience: You bring valuable experiences from your personal or professional life that can be applied to this role.
  • Listening and Empathy: You are a good listener, empathetic, understanding, kind, patient, and willing to learn.
  • Values Alignment: You can demonstrate behaviours consistent with the values of our Charity, including hope, understanding, expertise, equity, commitment, passion, and openness.
