About the role
Retention Machine is looking for a commercially minded CRM Executive to join the team on a 4-day-a-week basis, with the potential to move into a 5-day role. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how strong CRM execution, lifecycle flows, segmentation and reporting work together to drive revenue for e-commerce brands. You will manage day-to-day CRM activity across a portfolio of clients, working closely with our internal design and copy teams to plan, build, optimise and report on campaigns and automations.
Key responsibilities
- Build and schedule email campaigns across client accounts
- Plan, build, audit and optimise automated flows, including Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Browse Abandonment, Post-Purchase, Winback and other lifecycle journeys
- Review and revamp existing flow structures, messaging and targeting to improve performance
- Lead or support client meetings, presenting updates, recommendations and performance insights clearly
- Work closely with design and copy teams to shape monthly content calendars and campaign plans
- Develop campaign and automation strategies based on client goals, customer behaviour and commercial priorities
- Build and manage audience segments for campaigns, flows and testing strategies
- Analyse CRM performance and produce clear, actionable reporting across campaigns, flows, deliverability and customer behaviour
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue, engagement, retention and list health across client accounts
- Support deliverability best practice, including warm-up planning, engaged sending strategies and basic troubleshooting where needed
- Support A/B testing plans across subject lines, content, send times, offers and flow logic
- Maintain strong attention to detail across builds, QA, links, targeting, timing and final sends
- Stay aware of CRM best practice, platform updates and lifecycle marketing trends
What we’re looking for
Must-haves
- Previous hands-on experience working in CRM, email marketing or lifecycle marketing
- Strong working knowledge of Klaviyo
- Good understanding of campaign planning, automation flows and customer journey strategy
- Strong knowledge of segmentation, targeting and CRM reporting
- Good understanding of email deliverability, list health and inbox placement fundamentals
- Familiarity with warm-up approaches for new domains, new sending infrastructure or account recovery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence joining and contributing to client calls
- Ability to translate performance data into clear recommendations and next steps
- Strong organisation and attention to detail across multiple accounts and deadlines
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to spot issues and opportunities without needing heavy direction
- Comfortable collaborating with designers, copywriters and other team members to deliver high-quality work

The ideal person
You will be someone who is highly capable in day-to-day CRM execution, while also understanding the bigger picture: why an audience is being targeted, how a flow fits into the wider customer journey, and what the data is telling us to do next. You should be commercially aware, detail-oriented and confident communicating with both clients and internal teams. This role would suit someone who enjoys ownership, likes working across different brands and wants to play a meaningful part in improving CRM performance for clients.
Working pattern
This is a fully remote role, ideally suited to candidates based in the UK or Europe. The role is intended to start at 4 days per week, with the possibility of increasing to 5 days per week as the role and client workload grow.
