Purpose Of Job
· To give waking night duty cover within the Care Home which has 12 elderly Residents.
· To undertake certain domestic duties which can be performed during the night duty hours.
Main Responsibilities
· Administer night time medication once trained.
· Carry out hourly checks on the Residents and with regard to their privacy.
· Carry out regular checks within the building, in particular in relation to Fire Safety as instructed by the Home Manager.
· Assist Residents to toilet, where appropriate. Change incontinence pads where necessary. Reassure Residents, when needed and either chat or simply give them a drink if they need one.
· Empty catheter bags when appropriate and dispose of them suitably (training provided).
· When not dealing with Residents, undertake various domestic duties such as ironing, food preparation and cleaning, as well as any other ad hoc duties.
· Undertake training as required.
· You will be working alone, but may need to contact “on-call” member of staff in certain situations.
