Production Operations Manager

Tamworth, Staffordshire

£50,000 £55,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in manufacturing? Were looking for a Production Operations Manager to lead and optimise production processes at a well-established Engineering & Manufacturing Companyin North Birmingham.


Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and managing of daily production operations to ensure schedules & customer lead-times are met
  • Driving process improvement initiatives across the business
  • Manage and control stock levels, ensuring effective flow of materials through the business and ensure relevant and quantities of stock and finished product are available for rapid customer turnaround
  • Play a pivotal role in re-shaping and streamlining operations for long-term success for the business
  • Utilise and develop the SAP system to improve performance across the business,
  • Offering collaborative support to senior management
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards and maintained and risks are assessed effectively
  • Review and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved across all areas
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams to maximise productivity and keep morale high


Requirements include:

  • Proven managerial experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within an assembly and or machining production environment
  • Previous understanding and practical experience of stock / product management
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and process optimisation
  • Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP/MRP system is essential
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and analytical skills
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to efficiency and operational improvement
  • Confidence in dealing and working with clients, internal personnel & stakeholders
  • The ability to listen to and encourage others
  • A positive Can do attitude to all aspects of the position
  • Be confident and proactive in identifying risks
  • Suitable commercial awareness
