Production Operations Manager

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in manufacturing? Were looking for a Production Operations Manager to lead and optimise production processes at a well-established Engineering & Manufacturing Companyin North Birmingham.
Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing of daily production operations to ensure schedules & customer lead-times are met
- Driving process improvement initiatives across the business
- Manage and control stock levels, ensuring effective flow of materials through the business and ensure relevant and quantities of stock and finished product are available for rapid customer turnaround
- Play a pivotal role in re-shaping and streamlining operations for long-term success for the business
- Utilise and develop the SAP system to improve performance across the business,
- Offering collaborative support to senior management
- Ensure Health & Safety standards and maintained and risks are assessed effectively
- Review and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved across all areas
- Lead and develop cross-functional teams to maximise productivity and keep morale high
Requirements include:
- Proven managerial experience in the manufacturing sector, ideally within an assembly and or machining production environment
- Previous understanding and practical experience of stock / product management
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and process optimisation
- Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP/MRP system is essential
- Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and analytical skills
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to efficiency and operational improvement
- Confidence in dealing and working with clients, internal personnel & stakeholders
- The ability to listen to and encourage others
- A positive Can do attitude to all aspects of the position
- Be confident and proactive in identifying risks
- Suitable commercial awareness
