The Opportunity

An established UK engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to support continued growth within its fabrication solutions division.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused position aimed at developing new business opportunities with customers requiring fabrication, welding, machining, assembly and associated engineering services.

The role would suit an experienced sales or business development professional who understands the fabrication sector and is comfortable engaging with engineering, procurement and operational decision-makers.

You will be responsible for identifying prospective customers, generating new enquiries and developing opportunities from initial contact through to quotation and order placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across fabrication, engineering and industrial markets.
  • Arrange and attend customer meetings throughout the UK
  • Target organisations requiring subcontract fabrication, welding, machining, metalwork and assembly services.
  • Generate new leads through proactive business development, networking, industry contacts and direct customer engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with buyers, procurement teams, engineers, project managers and senior decision-makers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and identify suitable manufacturing solutions.
  • Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order placement.
  • Work closely with internal engineering, estimating and production teams to ensure customer requirements can be effectively delivered.
  • Maintain a healthy and well-managed sales pipeline.
  • Identify opportunities to develop repeat business and long-term customer partnerships.
