Do you have a full UK Driving Licence and experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift?
We are recruiting for a permanent position to join an established industrial materials business in Kempston.
You do not need extensive warehouse experience for this position.
Full training can be provided on the company's products, machinery and warehouse processes.
What is important is that you are practical, reliable, happy undertaking a varied hands-on role and have the licences required to carry out both the driving and forklift elements of the position.
This is NOT solely a driving or forklift role.
You will become a multi-skilled member of the operational team, working across warehouse duties, forklift operation, materials handling, machinery and customer deliveries.
What You'll Be Doing
- Driving a company flatbed Transit-style van to make customer deliveries
- Sharing delivery duties with other members of the team on a rotating basis
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Moving and organising industrial materials and stock
- Manual handling and preparing customer orders
- Operating machinery to cut materials to customers' required lengths and specifications
- Using a computer to record delivery details, job information and stock-related information
- Keeping the warehouse and working areas clean, organised and safe
- Helping other members of the team with general operational duties when required
What You Need
- A Full valid UK Driving Licence - essential; minor points can be considered
- Proof of an existing or previously held Counterbalance Forklift Licence / certification is essential; (an expired licence can be utilised for refresher training to be provided)
Previous warehouse experience would be useful, but it is NOT essential.
We are more interested in finding someone who
- Is comfortable with practical, physical and manual work
- Is willing to learn different aspects of the operation
- Is happy combining driving, forklift and general operative duties
- Can use basic computer systems to record information
- Is reliable, flexible and works well as part of a team
- Wants a stable, permanent position with the opportunity to develop additional skills
What's Offered
- Permanent employment
- Full training on the company's products, machinery and warehouse processes
- Forklift refresher training where required
- Varied duties rather than doing the same task every day
- Friendly and supportive working environment
- Pension scheme
- Free on-site parking
- Overtime opportunities when available
- Further training and career development opportunities
If you have a full UK Driving Licence and Counterbalance Forklift experience/licence and are looking for a varied permanent role where you can develop additional skills, we would be keen to hear from you.
