A well-established and highly respected company supplying products to the construction industry is seeking a Design Engineer to join its friendly and supportive team based in Tamworth. This is a permanent, full-time position offering long-term stability, a collaborative working environment, and the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to production. An immediate start is available for the right candidate. This role is ideal for an experienced Design Engineer seeking long-term stability, hands-on product development, and involvement across the full design lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Designing assembled products incorporating hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic components
- Using SolidWorks CAD for detailed design and final drawings
- Carrying out FMEA / finite analysis to support robust product design
- Managing projects from initial customer brief through to final approved drawings
- Reviewing, developing, and completing existing designs through to NPI (New Product Introduction)
- Working closely within a small design team and collaborating with other departments including manufacturing and operations
Requirements include:
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role
- Degree-qualified or other qualification in an Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD package
- Experience designing complex, assembled products
- Understanding of FMEA and design-for-manufacture principles
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
