Are you an organised administrator who enjoys speaking with customers and keeping enquiries, quotations and orders moving?
We’re recruiting a Sales Administrator for an established manufacturing business in Corby.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you’ll provide day-to-day sales support, helping customers from their initial enquiry through to quotation, order processing and production.
Additionally you will provide marketing assistance utilising AI and online marketing tools such as email messaging campaigns etc.
This is an opportunity to build on your client liaison, sales order processing and administration support experience while developing broader commercial skills.
Full technical and product training will be provided, including support with understanding customer drawings and preparing quotations.
The role
- Processing sales orders and checking that pricing, specifications and customer details are recorded correctly.
- Preparing and issuing accurate quotations using the information and guidance provided.
- Handling customer enquiries by telephone and email, providing a helpful and professional service.
- Following up outstanding quotations and keeping records of customer activity up to date.
- Gathering customer requirements and following up on any missing information.
- Building professional working relationships internally and with customers and potential clients.
- Learning to interpret customer drawings, including CAD drawings, and specifications to support quotations and order accuracy.
- Assisting the Commercial Manager with regular marketing tasks using existing templates and AI tools.
- Liaising with production and operations teams to communicate requirements and keep orders progressing.
- Keeping customers informed about their orders, lead times and delivery updates.
- Supporting contract reviews by checking order details against quotations and agreed requirements.
Maintaining customer records, sales information and general commercial administration.
About you
You’ll be organised, approachable and comfortable managing several tasks at once, possess accuracy with an attention to detail, with a strong focus on building lasting relationships, and customer service.
We’re looking for
- Experience in sales administration, sales support, customer service or a similar office-based role within the manufacturing sector specifically.
- Confidence speaking with customers and building positive working relationships.
- Good attention to detail when handling orders, quotations and customer information.
- Confidence working with numbers and checking pricing.
- A good commercial awareness of marketing techniques and how to produce effective campaigns.
- Good IT skills, with experience including Microsoft Office, AI and app-based software, and a willingness to learn new systems.
- The ability to prioritise your workload and follow tasks through to completion.
- A positive approach to learning about products, processes and the wider commercial function.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction or a related environment is essential.
