An established manufacturing business is looking for a Customer Service & Sales Administrator to join its commercial team. This varied role combines customer service, order processing, sales administration and account support. You will act as a key contact for customers, prepare quotations, manage orders and work closely with internal departments to ensure an efficient and reliable service.
Working alongside the Commercial Manager, you will also assist with straightforward marketing activities using AI and online tools, including email campaigns. Full product and technical training will be provided, with opportunities to develop your skills across the wider commercial function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to customer enquiries by telephone and email
- Providing information on prices, quotations, orders and lead times
- Preparing accurate quotations and following up with customers
- Processing sales orders and checking pricing, specifications and customer details
- Gathering customer requirements and obtaining any missing information
- Monitoring orders through production and keeping customers updated
- Building positive working relationships with customers and prospective clients
- Liaising with production and operations teams to keep orders progressing
- Learning to interpret customer drawings, including CAD drawings, to support quotations and order processing
- Checking order details against quotations and agreed customer requirements
- Maintaining accurate customer, pricing and order records
- Assisting with email campaigns and other marketing tasks using existing templates, AI and online tools
- Resolving customer queries with support from relevant colleagues
- Supporting the Commercial Manager with day-to-day sales administration
To be considered, you should have:
- Experience in customer service, sales administration, order processing or account support within manufacturing or a related technical environment
- Confident and professional communication skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A customer-focused approach and the ability to build lasting working relationships
- Good numerical skills and confidence checking pricing and order information
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and confidence learning new software
- An interest in supporting marketing activities and using digital tools
- A willingness to learn about products, technical information and commercial processes
Experience preparing quotations and processing customer orders would be particularly useful. Familiarity with AI tools, email campaigns or online marketing software would also be an advantage. Previous experience interpreting CAD drawings is not essential, as full technical and product training will be provided.
