An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its maintenance team at its Kidderminster production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to join a successful manufacturer where you'll work on a wide range of heavy production equipment, helping to maximise plant reliability while supporting continuous improvement across the site.
The Role:
- You'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving production machinery, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Equipment includes:
- Die casting machinery
- Industrial furnaces
- ABB robotic systems
- Hydraulic presses
- Associated manufacturing equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
- Maintain plant reliability and minimise downtime
- Support production teams during breakdown situations
- Complete maintenance records accurately using the CMMS system
- Participate in detailed shift handovers
- Carry out root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs where required
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
About You:
We're looking for an apprentice-trained Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working on a variety of industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment. You'll ideally have:
- Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Strong mechanical maintenance background
- Good hydraulic systems knowledge
- Basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Previous experience within heavy manufacturing, die casting, foundry or similar industrial environments
Desirable:
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Forklift licence
- Overhead crane licence
