An established specialist equipment business is looking to recruit an experienced Regional Sales Manager to support continued growth across the UK. This is a field-based sales role suited to someone with experience selling technical equipment, capital machinery, specialist plant, industrial equipment, environmental equipment or engineered solutions into practical, site-based sectors. The company supplies high-value equipment used across areas such as construction, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure, waste management, environmental services, industrial services and maintenance operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing customer relationships and identifying commercial opportunities across the UK market.

The Role

As Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales growth by building strong customer relationships, understanding operational challenges and presenting suitable technical equipment solutions. This is a customer-facing role involving regular site visits, demonstrations, technical discussions, client meetings and ongoing account development. You will be expected to work closely with customers across operational, technical and senior decision-maker levels. Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across construction, utilities, infrastructure, environmental services, waste management, industrial services and related sectors.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts, building long-term relationships and encouraging repeat business.
  • Promote specialist equipment and technical solutions to prospective and existing customers.
  • Carry out customer meetings, site visits, equipment demonstrations and technical discussions.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate terms and close sales in line with agreed targets.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movement and sector trends to identify further growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal sales, service and operational teams to ensure customers receive a professional experience.
  • Support marketing activity, exhibitions and industry events where required.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, pipeline updates and customer feedback.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have proven B2B sales experience within a technical, machinery, plant, equipment or industrial services environment. You will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in field sales, regional sales, business development or key account management.
  • A track record of selling into sectors such as construction, utilities, infrastructure, waste, environmental services, industrial services or heavy industry.
  • Experience selling specialist equipment, capital machinery, plant, engineered products or technical services would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers at operational, technical and senior decision-maker level.
  • Confidence discussing equipment applications, customer requirements and practical site-based solutions.
  • Good CRM and Microsoft Office skills.
