Business Development Manager - Engineering Birmingham £45,000 £50,000 per annum + Car Allowance Permanent | Full Time The Opportunity An established UK engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to support continued growth within its fabrication solutions division.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused position aimed at developing new business opportunities with customers requiring fabrication, welding, machining, assembly and associated engineering services.

The role would suit an experienced sales or business development professional who understands the fabrication sector and is comfortable engaging with engineering, procurement and operational decision-makers.

You will be responsible for identifying prospective customers, generating new enquiries and developing opportunities from initial contact through to quotation and order placement.

Key

Responsibilities: Identify and develop new business opportunities across fabrication, engineering and industrial markets.

Arrange and attend customer meetings throughout the UK Target organisations requiring subcontract fabrication, welding, machining, metalwork and assembly services.

Generate new leads through proactive business development, networking, industry contacts and direct customer engagement.

Build strong relationships with buyers, procurement teams, engineers, project managers and senior decision-makers.

Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and identify suitable manufacturing solutions.

Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order placement.

Work closely with internal engineering, estimating and production teams to ensure customer requirements can be effectively delivered.

Maintain a healthy and well-managed sales pipeline.

Identify opportunities to develop repeat business and long-term customer partnerships.

Represent the business professionally at customer sites, industry events and trade exhibitions.

The Candidate we are looking for will have: Proven sales experience within fabrication, engineering, manufacturing or technical sectors A successful track record of developing and winning new business.

Good knowledge of the UK fabrication and engineering marketplace.

Experience selling services such as fabrication, welding, machining, metalworking or engineered manufacturing solutions.

Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

The ability to communicate confidently with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

A proactive, self-motivated approach to business development.

The ability to manage opportunities through a potentially technical and consultative sales process.

A full UK driving licence.

Experience supplying sectors such as defence, rail, marine, automotive, construction, infrastructure, industrial engineering or specialist manufacturing would be advantageous but is not essential.

An ability to understand CAD / engineering drawings, technical specifications or manufacturing requirements would also be beneficial.

The Package £45,000 £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Car allowance.

Permanent position.

Birmingham based, with UK travel required.
