This highly expert, engaging and influential individual will drive and track measurable efficiencies and improvements across a range of critical, core business processes in time, effort, and quality of work outputs. While initial projects have been identified, the role will identify further opportunities for process improvement, lead structured improvement initiatives, and equip team members with the tools and confidence to improve the ways they work. The role will also include a focus on how we could use off‑the‑shelf systems and tools (such as AI) to gain efficiencies.
Engaging Leader
- Champion and inspire a continuous improvement mindset and culture in day‑to‑day operations – “better, faster, cheaper”.
- Establish framework, tools, templates and common language to embed continuous improvement as part of the day‑to‑day culture across the teams.
- Personally own progress and outcomes of all business process continuous improvement projects.
- Train and coach teammates in basic continuous improvement tools and techniques, fostering a culture of empowerment and ownership.
- Lead improvement workshops and process mapping sessions with staff at all levels to understand workflows and co‑design better ways of working.
- Encourage and enable suggestions and ideas from staff, with quick‑win implementation.
Project Management
- Validate areas already identified for improvement and prioritise for maximum benefit.
- Work with others to identify further operational business processes with inefficiencies, duplication, and areas for improvement.
- Lead nominated subject matter experts across the teams to design and implement process improvements that deliver measurable time savings and quality enhancements.
- Collaborate with team leaders to standardise processes and documentation (SOPs, templates, checklists, workflows, process diagrams).
- Ensure improvements are adopted and sustained for the long term.
- Explore how latest technologies can enable automation and greater savings.
Reporting Progress
- Establish and track KPIs and benefits realisation for improvement projects (e.g. hours saved, error and duplication reduction).
- Report progress and outcomes to senior leadership, including project updates and efficiency metrics.
Requirements
- Proven influencer who is curious, collaborative and approachable, generating high levels of stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience in process improvement within an office, service, or business operations environment.
- Demonstrable success in delivering measurable improvements (time/cost/quality).
- Able to lead through influence in a complex matrix environment, leading projects teams without relying on hierarchy to deliver/align.
- Confident presenter and facilitator with experience running engaging workshops, training, or coaching staff in process thinking.
- Highly organised and able to lead multiple small/medium sized process improvement projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset and confident with data gathering and benefit tracking.
- Balanced approach: analytical, but also empathetic with team dynamics and an understanding of change management principles.
- Ability to maintain momentum with project teams who will have absolute deadlines on other projects.
