A bit about the role: The Argos Analytics team is undergoing significant transformation, leveraging data to drive change. This analyst role in Argos Commercial Analytics focuses on commercial strategy, including evaluating price campaigns and identifying key steps for pricing strategy development. We want you to have a point of view, combining commercial insight, curiosity, and an understanding of our business to provide recommendations and identify opportunities for improvement. As an Analyst at Argos, you'll play a key role in unlocking the value of our data to drive commercial success. Working within a high-performing team of Analysts and supported by Analytics Managers, you’ll help shape and deliver Argos’s strategic ambitions through data-driven insight.

What you need to know and show:

  • Analytical Mindset & Problem Solving: Apply logical, creative thinking to complex commercial challenges. Leverage novel data sources and predictive techniques to uncover opportunities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in SQL and either R or Python, with a numerate background with a solid grasp of statistical methods, including their practical applications and limitations.
  • Strategic Pricing & Analysis: Conduct in-depth competitor pricing analysis and evaluate product trends to develop data-driven pricing strategies that enhance profitability and commercial impact.
  • KPI & Framework Development: Design and interpret KPIs and analytical frameworks to guide strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Insight Generation & Communication: Deliver actionable insights through clear, compelling data storytelling. Present pricing models and recommendations that drive measurable business transformation.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience using SQL and either Python or R to analyse large datasets and generate actionable commercial insights.
  • Experience conducting pricing, competitor, market or commercial analysis, using data to influence business decisions and strategy.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and analytical techniques, with the ability to apply them appropriately to solve business problems.
  • Experience developing and interpreting KPIs, performance metrics and analytical frameworks to measure performance and identify opportunities.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders, translating data into clear recommendations that drive action.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, challenge assumptions and deliver commercially focused analytical solutions.
