Job Purpose: To provide the day-to-day telephone service for the Technical Support Department.
The Person: A team player who can remain calm under pressure. Logical and organised with strong IT skills (particularly internet) and a “can do” attitude along with good communication skills.
Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming technical queries and provide real-time technical support to members.
- Provide technical support to approved Electric vehicle repair workshops.
- Record member usage of technical enquiries on an online database.
- Maintain up to date technical information and update technical library with latest information in electronic format.
- Support the team in the provision of technical information to members through the bulletin and other printed documents.
- Set and reset test vehicles and test rigs for candidate assessment at our Academy.
- Create guides for technical areas.
- Assist in internal quality assurance checks.
- Assist where necessary at Academies.
Job Related Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Own vehicle to travel to our academy (when required) – mileage claimable.
- Good electrical understanding of complex systems.
- An ability to convey complex technical information and advice by telephone.
- Familiarity with vehicle technical information in a variety of formats.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage own workload & work with minimum supervision.
- Good IT skills with team viewer, etc.
Desirable:
- Background in Electric vehicle repair and diagnosis.
- Up to date understanding and qualification of service and repair in the automotive trade at a level 3 or equivalent.
- Up to date diagnostic skills and familiarity with manufacturer and 3rd party diagnostic equipment.
