We have the following positions available within our dynamic team here at Retail Impact. Retail Impact is a specialist data analytics company supporting fresh food suppliers and major supermarket chains across the UK. We help our partners optimise their supply chain and commercial operations through insight-led decision-making.
We are looking for a Category Analyst to play a key role in working with some of the UK’s biggest retailers and supply chains, driving performance improvements across product ranges, store execution, and supplier engagement.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Analytics & Category Management
- Conduct KPI performance reviews, including base-level and historical performance analysis.
- Deliver enhanced reactive and proactive volume planning.
- Lead range reviews that deliver value for consumers, retailers, and suppliers.
- Carry out pack size, sustainability, product life, and rate-of-sale suitability assessments.
- Analyse store-level performance, including space allocation, replenishment cycles, and rate-of-sale patterns.
- Evaluate order profile accuracy and assess fit-for-sales.
- Manage new line set-ups and provide post-implementation insights.
- Complete distribution assessments and support short- and long-term range review initiatives.
- Deliver range cube analysis, segmentation, and clustering reviews.
- Provide planogram analysis, recommendations, and implementation support.
- Provide best-practice guidance and support to new internal colleagues.
- Facilitate regular category performance reviews with suppliers and retailer partners.
- Offer supplier product performance insight and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct region, format, and store-specific analysis.
- Review seasonality behaviour and support seasonal implementation planning.
- Evaluate promotional performance, including halo and victim impacts.
- Assess secondary space implementation and its impact on category performance.
Business Development & Stakeholder Management
- Manage category management relationships across supermarkets and fresh food suppliers.
- Build strong, trusted partnerships with retailers—becoming their go-to source for impartial, actionable advice.
- Act as a key liaison between supplier sites and retailer stakeholders.
- Demonstrate value by identifying and delivering opportunities that optimise category performance.
- Upsell within the existing client base and support the development of new business opportunities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to engage and onboard new clients.
