Salary: £90,000 – £95,000 per annum plus contributory pension, bonus, healthcare, €26,000 worth of shares vesting every two years, and hybrid working.

A market-leading food retailer is seeking to recruit a Head of Buying, covering grocery, health and beauty, and well-being, to join its established team in London. Part of one of the largest companies globally, this retailer specializes in providing high-quality products sourced ethically from local suppliers. Their mission focuses on customer-centricity and high-quality offerings. The company fosters a highly people-centric culture, encouraging authenticity among employees. This is an exciting phase for the business as they plan to triple in size over the coming years.

The Head of Buying will oversee the company\’s most high-profile product assortment, responsible for the largest turnover. You will drive the commercial strategy across grocery, ambient, and health & well-being products. Acting as the UK’s number two, you will work closely with the Commercial Director to identify growth opportunities in turnover and profitability over the next three to five years. You will manage a team of eight, taking personal responsibility for their training, development, and succession planning.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Head of Buying, Senior Buyer, or Category Manager. You should be highly energized, motivated, and innovative, with a problem-solving approach. Creativity and willingness to challenge traditional retail practices are valued. This high-profile role requires a confident, humble, and highly commercial individual with excellent communication skills, capable of representing the company both internally and externally.

The role offers a basic salary of up to £95,000, plus an annual bonus of up to £14,000. Share options valued at approximately €26,000 vest every two years. The office is located in a beautiful area of London’s City, with hybrid working options and access to local amenities for a balanced work environment.
