Salary: up to £80,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London for events and team activities

About Us

The Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo) is responsible for managing and evolving the Retail Energy Code (REC), which governs the interactions of parties involved in the Great Britain retail energy market. Our mission is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the market, promoting innovation, competition, and delivering positive outcomes for consumers. We manage a range of critical services, all aimed at driving operational efficiencies and delivering value to the industry and consumers alike.

RECCo supports a broad set of stakeholders, including energy suppliers, network operators, and metering service providers, facilitating the effective delivery of their obligations under the REC. This makes RECCo a vital player in shaping the future of the energy market.

The Role

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing internal and external business change, planning, supervising and executing the delivery of RECCo projects to meet management’s strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and on time. They will be supported by a PMO and subject matter expert resource for each project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determining and defining project scope and objectives
  • Developing and managing a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Overseeing delivery to time and budget
  • Developing and delivering Test and Quality Assurance strategies
  • Providing project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Managing suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilising industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting as needed
  • Measuring project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Predicting resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Preparing budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Tracking project costs to meet budget
  • Working effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation
  • Demonstrating excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders

About You

  • Demonstrable understanding of complex projects, project management principles, risk management and practices
  • Significant experience of project or change management, seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Working knowledge of project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Evidenced experience completing projects according to outlined scope, budget and timeline
  • Experience of working in the energy industry is essential
