We are an independent, non-profit organisation responsible for the Retail Energy Code — a key part of how the GB retail energy market is regulated. We deliver secure digital services, clear governance, and practical solutions that protect consumers, support innovation, and help the energy system move towards net zero.
This role will provide hands-on support to the Data, Technology and Transformation team, while structured development is offered for someone at an early stage in their career or returning to work following a career break.
This is an entry-level role within the Portfolio Management team, designed to develop the individual’s skills and provide a foundation for a career in project and programme delivery. You will work closely with Project Managers (PMs), Business Analysts (BAs) and the PMO to support planning, coordination, business analysis and governance activities across a portfolio of projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Supporting Project Managers with day-to-day delivery activities across multiple projects
- Maintaining project plans, action trackers and RAID logs (risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies)
- Coordinating tasks, timelines and deliverables to ensure projects remain on track
- Supporting smaller internal projects or discrete work packages under supervision
- Supporting the preparation of project and portfolio reporting (status reports, dashboards, KPIs)
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring version control of key artefacts
- Coordinating project meetings, including working groups and SteerCo sessions
- Preparing agendas, papers and meeting packs
- Taking minutes and tracking actions through to completion
- Supporting planning activities, including timelines, milestones and dependencies
- Assisting with resource tracking and forecasting
- Supporting continuous improvement of project management processes and tools
- Assisting in maintaining standard templates, guidance and frameworks
- Supporting Business Analysts in gathering and documenting requirements
- Documenting requirements, user stories and process flows
- Assisting with impact assessments and traceability of requirements to delivery outputs

- Great organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain structured documentation
- Comfortable using Microsoft tools (e.g., Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Interest in project management, governance or delivery environments
- Analytical mindset with an interest in problem solving through project delivery
- Curiosity and confidence in using digital tools, including AI-enabled tools
