About the Role
RDP is the UK’s leading provider of specialist EPoS systems to the independent retail sector. Our dominant position in the industry is largely down to our best-in-class support, delivered by our passionate, talented team.
RDP have an exciting opportunity for an Installation Engineer to join our customer focused team. One of the most important elements of the role is that in many cases the installation engineer is the first person from RDP that the customer will meet. It is therefore very important that the engineer leaves an excellent first impression of the company.
What you'll be doing:
- Report in to the Installation Manager weekly for schedule.
- Drive to UK sites to install Epos systems, which may entail overnight stays.
- Become proficient in the ShopMate software in order to train the customers in its functionality.
- Deal with customers’ requests via the telephone.
- Willingness to provide demonstrations of the Epos system at occasional trade events.
You should apply if:
- You have a full clean driving licence.
- You have previous experience of working as part of a team.
- You have basic DIY skills, drilling holes, using a jigsaw.
- You are able to run network cables, often through suspended ceilings.
- You have knowledge of cable management.
- You have knowledge of basic network fault finding.
- Demonstrable organisational skills, including time management, prioritisation of tasks and self-motivation.
- Strong work ethic, requires high standards of self-motivation, able to be flexible in order to get the job done, able to work under pressure when deadlines approach.
- You are a confident and clear communicator.
- You have an excellent professional manner at all times.
- You are hardworking and committed, with a sense of humour.
