We are seeking an experienced Female Live-In Support Worker to provide support for an individual with complex mental health needs, including PTSD and an eating disorder. This is a short-term live-in placement (up to 3 weeks) designed to support a safe transition from hospital to home, with the package subject to review. Following this period, the role will transition into a structured shift-based support package, and we are particularly interested in candidates who can offer ongoing continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with mealtimes and nutritional intake in line with care plans
  • Monitor and respond to mental health needs and risk (including distress and dissociation)
  • Build a consistent, trusting therapeutic relationship
  • Support daily routines, personal care prompting, and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate records and report concerns appropriately

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and/or complex mental health needs
  • Understanding of PTSD, trauma, and dissociation
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in high-risk situations
  • Strong skills in building rapport and therapeutic relationships
  • Ability to provide consistent, reliable support
  • Good communication and observation skills
  • Commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed care

Desirable

  • Experience in 1:1 or live-in care roles
  • Knowledge of risk management and safeguarding
  • Experience supporting self-harm behaviours or crisis situations
