We are seeking an experienced Female Live-In Support Worker to provide support for an individual with complex mental health needs, including PTSD and an eating disorder. This is a short-term live-in placement (up to 3 weeks) designed to support a safe transition from hospital to home, with the package subject to review. Following this period, the role will transition into a structured shift-based support package, and we are particularly interested in candidates who can offer ongoing continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with mealtimes and nutritional intake in line with care plans
- Monitor and respond to mental health needs and risk (including distress and dissociation)
- Build a consistent, trusting therapeutic relationship
- Support daily routines, personal care prompting, and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate records and report concerns appropriately
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and/or complex mental health needs
- Understanding of PTSD, trauma, and dissociation
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in high-risk situations
- Strong skills in building rapport and therapeutic relationships
- Ability to provide consistent, reliable support
- Good communication and observation skills
- Commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed care
Desirable
- Experience in 1:1 or live-in care roles
- Knowledge of risk management and safeguarding
- Experience supporting self-harm behaviours or crisis situations
