RJ4All is recruiting a Non-Executive Director – Treasurer to join our Board for a renewable 2-year term. This strategic role involves chairing the Finance & HR Committee and overseeing the financial governance of RJ4All across the UK and Europe. RJ4All is a leading NGO operating across 10+ countries, focused on preventing power abuse through restorative justice practices at individual, community, and inter-state levels.

Job description
This is a strategic Non-Executive Director position serving as Treasurer and officer of the Board. You will provide financial oversight and governance expertise to support RJ4All’s mission across UK and Cyprus operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining effective financial governance, ensuring organisational viability, and chairing the Finance & HR Committee.
You’ll work with the Executive Director, accountants, and Finance Officer to oversee budgets, cash flow, compliance with Community Interest Company regulations, and financial reporting to funders and statutory bodies. This governance role operates under the Companies Act 2006, requiring directors to ensure the organisation meets community interest standards while serving restorative justice communities across 40+ countries. The position offers meaningful impact in financial sustainability of programmes including the Rotherhithe Community Centre’s services for vulnerable populations.
Key tasks
- Advise on strategy and ensure resources for mission delivery
- Chair Finance & HR Committee; oversee budgets, accounts, audits, and income generation
- Ensure sound investment policy, reserves, and asset management
- Ensure legal and financial compliance; support strategy and risk management; uphold safeguarding
Qualifications
Essential
- Finance, accounting or financial management experience
- Knowledge of board governance & fiduciary duties
- Familiarity with UK company law & CIC regulations
- Strong communication skills & high ethical standards
- Commitment: 3 Board meetings + 1 away day/year
- Clear DBS check, no convictions/bankruptcy
- RJ4All membership (can apply before appointment)
Desirable
- Charity finance/accounting background
- Trustee or NED experience in non-profits
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Knowledge/commitment to restorative justice
- Community development or social justice experience
- Work across multiple jurisdictions
- Financial risk management skills
- Grant funding and income generation knowledge
