Restless Development

Overview
We are looking to hire a Senior Fundraising Events Coordinator within Restless Development’s UK Fundraising team. The fundraising team’s income has grown year on year and there is potential to continue to grow this further and create impact at scale. The Senior Fundraising Events Coordinator will primarily work on the Schools Triathlon programme, managing PR & social media comms, and supporting merchandise and sponsor management. The Schools Triathlon is the UK’s largest fundraising and sporting event for children aged 7-13, with the aim of encouraging more children into sport while teaching fundraising. Over the years, events have raised over £3.4m for Restless Development and local charities, with over 9,000 children taking part. We aim to deliver 15 events in 2026 and to expand the series; deliver and event manage high-quality Schools Triathlon events in 2026 and beyond.
Responsibilities
Throughout September to February, present assemblies for the Schools Triathlon to inspire school-age pupils to sign up and take part in the Schools Triathlon series, and motivate them to fundraise by delivering a fun and engaging presentation.
Develop strong professional relationships with host schools throughout the year, in person and online; and with participating schools through assemblies and pre-event communications.
Work with event delivery partners to deliver 15 events throughout April, May and June 2026, ensuring that event logistics, host school requirements, and participant details are finalised and that host school relations are maintained.
Respond to enquiries from parents and guardians via the dedicated inbox and mobile phone when needed.
Develop a good working relationship with the Triathlon Committee, made up of Restless Development staff and volunteers, keeping appropriate members informed and bringing in support as needed.
Update relevant KPIs and income where needed.
Support the Senior Fundraising Manager with recruitment of regional volunteers when needed.
Lead on all social media activity for the Schools Triathlon across our channels.
Lead on liaising with external PR and host school stakeholders to deliver exceptional PR across the Schools Triathlon event series.
Lead on being the main contact for all host school marketing teams, ensuring effective working relationships are in place and maintained to an excellent standard.
Report monthly on KPIs, ensuring effective tracking for social engagement across all channels.
Work closely with the Communications team to ensure best practices and collaboration are in place.
Together with the Head of Fundraising, lead on drafting and development of Schools Triathlon parent communications.
Manage the partnership with our events photographers.
Together with the Head of Fundraising, develop a sponsors partnership prospect list aligned with our social values for year 2027 and beyond.
Lead on the project plan for sponsors with support from the Head of Fundraising.
Set, monitor and report on the progress of KPIs and fundraising as needed.
Work with the wider team to plan and deliver an excellent stewardship journey for sponsors, ensuring continued engagement.
Support the wider team with event communications, responding in a timely and professional manner.
Use DotDigital to communicate to schools and event participants.
Competent use of Excel to process data and regularly update internal and external databases.
Manage the Schools Triathlon website, ensuring that it is up to date and relevant.
Accurate and timely logging of information into Restless Development’s systems (Eventrac and CRM, Salesforce), executing mass imports, creating new records, and regularly cleaning data.
Understand and manage fundraising using the digital platform JustGiving; ensure all pages set up are logged on our CRM.
Must attend the Schools Triathlons as needed across April, May and June, with occasional evening and weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be provided.
Support on wider charity initiatives as needed.
Many of the schools we work with are not accessible by public transport; access to a reliable vehicle is vital. Travel will be reimbursed per Restless Development’s travel policy.
Manage the Schools Triathlon Leader programme, working with the wider team to recruit and develop opportunities for graduates/young people.
Undertake any other duties as requested by the Head of Fundraising.
