Gainsborough Hall Care Home are seeking passionate, dedicated and experienced Care Assistants to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents. The role involves caring for the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of residents using a person-centred approach, observing and promoting the resident’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, and fulfilment of other rights, creating and maintaining professional relationships with residents and families, and supporting other care workers.
Specific Duties:- Provide support and encouragement to residents in all areas / activities of daily living.
- Ensure the respect, dignity and privacy of residents as far as possible.
- Contribute to the assessment of residents’ needs and the development of individualized plans of care and support, in consultation with residents, their relatives and the care team.
- Act as a key worker for an identified resident or designated group.
- Work with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service to achieve planned goals.
- Prepare food and drink for residents, taking into account their choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements.
- Use moving and handling equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with residents.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records in respect of care.
- Dress appropriately, wearing correct uniform.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
- Attend in house and external training as and when required.
These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities within their spheres of responsibility and competence.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent care qualification or willingness to work towards.
- 12 months plus experience in a care / support or service related setting is preferred.
