Shelbourne Specialist Care Centre are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Activity Coordinator to join their team! The role involves providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the physical, cognitive and social wellbeing of the residents, while promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment for all residents.
Specific Duties:
- Plans, designs and delivers programmes of activities, in consultation with service users, their relatives and the care team, that meet the specific needs and requirements of our residents.
- Engages residents in creative, social and brain training activities such as arts & crafts, noodle hockey, balloon pass, parachute, word games, prize bingo, developing social skills and links to the community.
- Ability to mentally and physically stimulate residents and encourage them to engage in activities.
- Must be able to adapt to different environments and difficult situations well and be confident working with behaviours that challenge due to the nature of dementia.
- Able to maintain links with the local community and build good working relationships.
- Assist with fundraising activities and events to finance entertainment and outings.
- Supports religious practices of residents by arranging visits and outings as appropriate.
- IT literate and physically fit, able to stand for long periods of time.
- Works well in a team and alone.
