Austen Court Care Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead (RGN) to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Home Manager and be responsible for supporting the delivery of exceptional person-centred care to our residents, leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. They will have extensive experience in managing clinical risk assessments, safeguarding investigations and supporting our nurses. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, professionals and families alike.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a Registered Nurse, the post holder will comply with the standards of professional practice and conduct and maintain valid registration with the NMC in order to practice.
- The Deputy Manager will be part of the Homeβs Senior Management Team with lead responsibility for management, support and direction of care services.
- They will be expected to be part of the RN rota for the home and work a number of supernumerary shifts per week.
- Assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and will also take charge of the Home in the absence of the Manager.
- Supervise and support care staff in delivering quality care to residents, including those with dementia and other complex needs.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs, promoting their dignity and independence.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident care needs and adjust plans as necessary.
- Ensure proper medication administration practices are followed by all staff members.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional development among staff.
- Maintain good relationships with families, healthcare professionals and staff to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A qualified RGN/RMN/RNLD with a valid NMC pin number.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a care setting is essential.
- A background in dementia care, home care or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
