Asprey Court Care Centre is seeking dedicated and compassionate Care Assistants (day shifts) to join their team. The role involves delivering high standards of personal care, supporting residents' physical, emotional, cultural and social needs, promoting choice, independence and dignity, and maintaining professional relationships with residents and their families.
Specific Duties
- Provides support and encouragement to residents in all activities of daily living.
- Ensures the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of residents as far as possible.
- Contributes to the assessment of residents' needs and the development of individualised care plans, in consultation with residents, their relatives and the Care Team.
- Acts as a key worker for an identified resident or designated group.
- Works with the care and support team to deliver high standards of service and achieve planned goals.
- Prepares food and drink for residents, considering their choices, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements.
- Uses moving and handling equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintains good communication and effective working relationships with residents.
- Maintains detailed, accurate records of care.
General
- Dress appropriately in correct uniform.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
- Attend in-house and external training as required.
These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities within their spheres of responsibility and competence.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent care qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- At least 6 months experience in a care, support or service related setting.
