The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 ÂŁ per year.

Offering a competitive salary, monthly tips, and an annual £2,598 Islay Living Allowance (paid monthly) for all off‑site team. This is a full‑time position offered on a 40‑hour per week annualised contract.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests warmly and providing excellent customer service.
  • Ready for service by understanding the importance of mise en place and preparation ahead of time.
  • Anticipating guests' needs and responding promptly to any requests or concerns.
  • Preparing hot and cold beverages.
  • Keeping the area you’re responsible for clean, tidy and organised.
  • Taking part in team tasting sessions to gain an authentic understanding of our menus, answer guest questions and boost team creativity and rapport.
  • Taking orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrating a base knowledge of food and beverage within a quality‑driven hotel, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment.
  • Prepared for service with a knowledge of our wine and whisky lists and availability.
  • Recommending food and wine/whisky pairings.
  • Handling cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.

You’ll also be

  • A team player, with the ability to work independently.
  • Adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Creating a positive working environment and culture within our team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Barista, waiting or bar experience, or other relevant experience in customer‑facing roles in retail or leisure.
  • Enthusiastic and personable team player.
  • Strong guest focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good listening skills and a proactive, helpful attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
  • Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
  • Excellent time‑management skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed (essential).

Due to the remote location of our hotel, you’ll require a driving licence and access to a personal vehicle. Team accommodation within same‑sex residences is also available when possible.
