You’ll run a kitchen feeding up to 200 hungry people a day, plus hospitality for meetings and events that need to look great and land on time. This is your kitchen and your team, and the menus are yours to shape.
What you'll be up to
- Cooking great food every day. You'll lead production and service, from the lunchtime rush to the boardroom platter.
- Building menus that sell and make money. You'll work with the Catering Manager to write, cost and tweak menus using sales mix and menu engineering. If GP is your idea of a fun Friday, we'll get on.
- Leading the team. You'll train, mentor and motivate your chefs and KPs, and you'll lead from the pass rather than the office.
- Keeping it tight. Food safety, allergens, ordering (Foodbuy), recipes (Kafoodle), stock takes and FIFO. Boring? Maybe. Important? Massively. You'll make it all run like clockwork.
- Being the face of the food. You'll build good relationships with clients and suppliers, and you'll shout about what we do.
- Have strong culinary skills and a real hunger for new flavours, ingredients and techniques.
- Have led a kitchen team before and know how to bring out the best in people.
- Understand food costs, labour and GP, and can turn a costing sheet into a profitable menu.
- Stay calm under pressure and can run the show without someone looking over your shoulder.
- Bring oodles of personality and a can-do attitude.
- Are happy on your feet all day (the gym membership is optional).
