We are looking for an ambitious and people-focused Deputy General Manager to support a large, multi-outlet catering operation across two neighbouring sites. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader to play a key role in shaping food culture, team engagement, and operational excellence. Operating Monday to Friday, the sites include 4 restaurants and 10 micro-kitchens/tea points, supported by a team of approximately 55 colleagues. You will work closely with the General Manager and Restaurant Managers, providing oversight, structure, and leadership across daily service and long-term planning. This role suits someone with strong operational experience who is passionate about food, understands current food trends, and enjoys developing people in a fast-paced environment. Candidates from a restaurant or multi-site hospitality background are very welcome.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily breakfast and lunch operations across both sites
- Ensure allergen processes and briefings are followed to the highest standard
- Support Restaurant Managers with service standards and team leadership
- Take responsibility for budget management and cost control
- Lead health & safety compliance and best practice
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing people development
- Manage HR-related activity including meetings, engagement, and performance support
- Plan and deliver pop-ups, cultural events, and EIG-led celebrations
- Work collaboratively with culinary teams to reflect food trends and innovation
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing large, diverse teams in hospitality or food service
- A strong people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others
- A "foodie" mindset with an understanding of food trends and guest expectations
- Commercial awareness with confidence managing budgets and performance
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple outlets
