We’re looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join a busy conference and hospitality operation, delivering high‑quality, seasonal, and bespoke menus for events of up to 400 guests. With weekly conferences and multiple large‑scale, multi‑day events throughout the year, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a fast‑paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Conference Sous Chef
- Manage the conference kitchen, ensuring smooth and profitable food production
- Deliver high‑quality food for weekly conferences and large multi‑day events
- Plan menus, oversee food purchasing, and manage stock control
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety across all kitchen areas
- Support and contribute to seasonal and bespoke menu development
- Lead the team through effective communication and performance management
- Ensure labour and GP targets are consistently achieved
To Succeed as a Conference Sous Chef, You Will
- Have experience in conferences or high‑volume kitchen
- Be confident working independently
- Have experience managing kitchen operations from a commercial perspective
- Possess a solid understanding of health & safety and food safety regulations
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent)
- Be flexible to work early morning and late evenings
- Ideally have Intermediate Food Hygiene / Level 3 certification
