We’re on the hunt for a Hospitality & Events Head Chef to lead our buzzing kitchen brigade at Grazing HQ. This is a full-throttle, hands-on role running our central production kitchen — delivering mouth-watering food for workplace catering, events and delivery clients.
You’ll bring the flavour, the fire, and the leadership to match — driving daily operations, inspiring your team, smashing service standards, and keeping quality, consistency and costs firmly on point.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responsible and accountable for all hospitality & events food production and execution at our Central Production Kitchen (CPU) and, as required, on-site at client offices and event venues.
- Responsible for maintaining Health and Food Safety (HFS) for all areas of the production kitchen and back-of-house operation, in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager.
- Responsible for overseeing safe allergens systems in order to comply with all legislation and requirements to provide customers with allergen information for all dishes.
- Reporting and managing maintenance issues and equipment status with the assistance of the Grazing Senior Team.
- Oversee the preparation and dispatch of food to ensure accurate and prompt delivery to customers.
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day ordering/purchasing of food stock in-line with financial targets and budgets.
- Ensures that all kitchen employees consistently adhere to company policy and standards.
- In conjunction with the Executive Chef, establish goals for the kitchen, anticipate and resolve problems concerning all facets of the kitchen, anticipate trends, enact approved profit-oriented and cost saving ideas/activities.
- Develop exciting, innovative and delicious menus with the Development Chef for our team catering, events, delivery & hospitality catering, costing dishes and preparing recipe specs.
- Ensure adherence to recipes and product specifications.
- Ensure adherence to allergens processes and labelling.
- Stock counting and monitoring to follow FIFO system.
- Train kitchen staff on all new menus.
- To communicate respectfully & positively with operational and on-site teams to enable the best possible customer experience.
- Responsible for the opening of the kitchen in the morning and the closing in the evening and to ensure there is a handover to Sous Chefs/Head KP.
- To motivate, develop and performance manage the kitchen team.
- Deliver onsite hospitality and events at our clients’ premises, as needed.
