We're now looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our People Team on an 11-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

Provides hands-on support across a broad range of HR activities to promote a positive employee experience and support business objectives.

This role has a strong focus on Employee Relations, working closely with employees and managers to provide guidance on workplace issues, support the resolution of employee concerns, and ensure the consistent and fair application of HR policies and procedures.

Works collaboratively with employees and managers to address HR needs and contribute to the effective delivery of HR services.

The Role

  • Provide generalist HR support: Work as part of a dedicated HR team in a fast-growing business.
  • Deliver comprehensive HR assistance: Offer professional and operationally focused support, advice, and guidance.
  • Support managers and employees: Assist managers and employees with HR-related queries and issues.

Key Responsibilities

Partner: Provide professional advice, mentorship, and coaching to managers on people management issues including disciplinary, appeal and grievance handling, performance management, absence management, talent management, development, reward, and terms and conditions of employment in line with company procedures and employment legislation.

  • Advise line managers and process contractual changes: Manage leavers, transfers, promotions, and organisational changes by preparing contractual documentation, entering data into HR systems and files, and performing all related administrative tasks ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Effectively manage own casework: Liaise with Operations and provide hands-on guidance for staff on HR matters.
  • Ensure integrity of HR systems: Maintain accurate and compliant data input across HR platforms
  • Generate HR reports and conduct data analysis: Use intermediate and advanced Excel functions to support HR reporting and analysis.
  • Provide employee support: Assist employees with Employment, Welfare, and Health & Safety issues as required.
  • Contribute to wellbeing and engagement: Help develop and embed wellbeing and employee engagement strategies, using focus groups and staff feedback to create positive change.
  • Keep up to date with Employment Law: Maintain current knowledge of legislation changes affecting employment.
  • Lead or support ad hoc projects: Participate in or lead special projects as required by the business.
  • Support HR policy management: Assist in the creation, updating, and implementation of company HR policies, programmes, and practices.
  • Undertake administration duties: Write follow-up letters from meetings with employees and ensure personnel files are maintained and up to date.
  • Liaise with payroll: Coordinate employee information and complete necessary payroll documentation.
  • Collaborate with People Advisors and Partners: Work proactively with HR colleagues across sites on complex employee cases and improvement initiatives.
  • Additional duties: Undertake other tasks as identified to support the HR function and business needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Highly organised: Capable of working efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Proven HR advisory experience: Demonstrable background working in HR advisory roles within fast-paced, challenging, and constantly evolving environments.
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law: Fundamental understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Experience advising line managers: Proven ability to work with and provide guidance to management.
  • Strong IT and communication skills: First-class proficiency in relevant software and clear communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail: High level of accuracy and ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Team oriented: Works well within a team environment.
  • Results focused: Driven to achieve outcomes and deliver impact.
  • Relevant education: Degree-level qualification in Human Resources is preferable.
  • Professional membership: CIPD membership is desirable.
