You can run a project.

The trouble is that nobody will hand you one.

In plenty of consultancies the senior title arrives long before the autonomy does, and you spend another two years checking other people's drawings while someone above you takes the client meetings.

This role is the opposite.

You would join a national MEP consultancy of more than two hundred people, a practice built around sustainable, research-led design across healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial and pharmaceutical work, with net zero carbon running through everything it takes on.

The team is friendly, well resourced and genuinely collaborative, and the workload is varied enough that no two projects feel the same.

As a senior mechanical engineer you act as project leader on your own schemes, attend principal meetings, present to clients and carry projects from inception through to completion.

You raise the technical bar for the mechanical team around you, guide the more junior engineers assisting on your jobs, and over time become the point of contact for key clients in your own right.

It is a role with a high degree of autonomy for someone who is organised, commercially aware and ready to own the outcome.

You can be based at any of the firm's Midlands or northern offices, including Solihull, Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds or Huntingdon, working a 36.25 hour week under an agile framework.

The benefits are strong: the option to buy and sell annual leave, enhanced family and sickness pay, an electric vehicle scheme, cycle to work and a proper employee assistance programme.

Salary is between 48,000 and 60,000.

If you have a building services degree or an HNC with solid design experience, and three or more years of post-qualification design behind you, send over your CV and we will talk you through the rest.
