Responsive Personnel are pleased to be working with a leading transport & logistics provider who are looking for Class 1 Drivers due to business growth. As a Class 1 Driver, you will be working alongside the transport team to ensure the safe delivery of goods to various depots locally.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, with shift times starting at 04:30-06:30 on days, and 18:00-19:00 start times on nights.
Salary: £18.00 per hour on days, £21.00 per hour on nights.
Your Class 1 Driver responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Completing full vehicle checks prior to leaving the yard, ensuring any defects are reported immediately.
- Delivery of caged or palletised goods to depots (some deliveries will require unloading using an electric pallet truck, however most deliveries will be forked off).
- Following manual handling procedures.
- Use of handheld PDA scanner devices to scan goods on/off the vehicle.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all Working Time Directive policies.
Class 1 Driver Experience & Qualifications:
- Must hold a full UK category C+E driving licence, CPC card and tachograph card.
- For insurance purposes, all drivers must have held their Class 1 licence for 12 months or longer.
- Successfully complete a driving assessment which will include a theory test, practical test, and drug & alcohol test.
- Strong communication & organisation skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail.
