Location: Swindon Based
Responsive Personnel are looking for General Groundworkers. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in groundworks and civil construction tasks, and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concreting works, including preparation, pouring, and finishing.
- Shuttering and formwork for various structures.
- Pipe laying for shallow and deep excavations.
- Sheeting and framing operations (ticketed operators preferred).
- Mechanical installation of pipework and associated fittings.
- Operate plant and machinery safely, including: Excavators (up to and over 10 tons, ticket required), Dumpers (ticket required).
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Setting out and maintaining levels according to project requirements.
- Adhering to all site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a groundworker in civil engineering or construction projects.
- Relevant tickets/certifications for sheeting, framing, excavator, and dumper operations.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working under minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures and hazard awareness.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to mentor or guide junior operatives.
- Flexible and adaptable to different tasks as required by the project.
