Location: Swindon – Delta Business Park

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 uncapped commission team bonuses

The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead our consultants, drive sales performance, and take ownership of revenue-generating billing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing personal billing targets with strategic management responsibilities.

With plans to grow our team by two additional consultants in 2025, you’ll play a pivotal role in scaling our operations while safeguarding the high service standards our clients rely on.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of recruitment consultants
  • Set and monitor individual and team sales targets
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching
  • Recruit and onboard new team members
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive overall sales performance and revenue growth with the support of our consultants
  • Develop and implement sales strategies across core sectors
  • Lead by example in client acquisition and retention
  • Build trusted relationships that encourage clients to transition to Responsive Personnel
  • Identify and secure high-value opportunities with key decision makers

Revenue Generation & Billing

  • Actively contribute to monthly billing targets through personal placements (temp and perm)
  • Manage key accounts and high-value placements
  • Drive growth across both temporary and permanent staffing solutions
  • Oversee team billing operations and performance metrics
  • Monitor profit margins and implement financial controls

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain our leading fill rate times for temporary bookings
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice with the support of our Compliance and Payroll Executive
  • Optimise recruitment processes and systems
  • Manage escalations and maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee candidate quality and retention initiatives

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to wider business growth plans
  • Analyse performance data and market opportunities
  • Support the MD in achieving profitability and self-sufficiency goals
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements

  • 2–4 years recruitment management experience
  • Proven billing track record alongside management duties
  • Strong sales leadership skills with team management experience
  • Background in industrial, commercial, or hospitality recruitment
  • Excellent people development and coaching skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with P&L awareness
  • Results-driven with a focus on KPIs and targets
  • Full Driving Licence and own transport – Business miles reimbursed

Desirable

  • Experience managing recruitment teams of 5+ consultants
  • Knowledge of recruitment software and billing systems
  • Understanding of the Swindon/South West job market
  • Experience scaling recruitment operations
  • Professional qualifications (REC, IRP)
