Responsive Personnel are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic

Meetings & Events Coordinator to join our hotel team.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous hotel Meetings & Events experience who understands the operational realities of delivering successful events.

We are looking for a candidate who can take ownership of bookings from initial enquiry through to delivery, ensuring every detail is accurate, clearly communicated and commercially well managed.

The successful candidate will have a strong hotel operational background and will understand how different departments work together to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Experience in areas such as

Food & Beverage, Conference & Banqueting, Reception or Duty Management , followed by progression into Meetings & Events, would be particularly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Meetings & Events enquiries from initial contact through to confirmed booking and event delivery.
  • Take ownership of allocated bookings, ensuring all details are accurate, complete and communicated effectively.
  • Coordinate a diverse range of events, including meetings, conferences, weddings, private events and group accommodation.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Confidently sell the hotel's facilities, accommodation, food and beverage and event capabilities to maximise revenue and conversion.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate event documentation, ensuring information is consistent across all departments.
  • Liaise closely with operational teams, including Food & Beverage, Reception, Housekeeping and other relevant departments, to ensure events are delivered smoothly.
  • Understand the operational impact of decisions made during the planning process and ensure these are communicated appropriately.
  • Conduct effective handovers and communicate changes, special requirements and client expectations clearly.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and maximise revenue across accommodation, meeting space, food and beverage and additional services.
  • Respond to client enquiries promptly and professionally, providing a high level of customer service throughout the booking journey.
  • Support the successful delivery of events on the day where required, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant hotel systems are kept up to date.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider hotel team to achieve operational and commercial targets.

About You

Responsive Personnel are looking for someone who has previous experience within a hotel Meetings & Events environment and is ready to take ownership of a busy and varied event portfolio.

You will ideally have

  • Previous hotel Meetings & Events or Conference & Banqueting experience.
  • A strong understanding of hotel operations and how events are delivered in practice.
  • Experience working in, or alongside, operational departments such as F&B, C&B, Reception or Duty Management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bookings and priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A confident, professional and commercially minded approach to sales.
  • The ability to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate solutions rather than simply process bookings.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with both clients and operational teams.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership and resolve issues.
  • A genuine understanding of the importance of teamwork and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
  • Systems Experience

Experience using Rezlynx would be advantageous, although this is not essential.

Candidates with strong experience using comparable hotel property management, event or booking systems will also be considered.

What We Are Looking For

Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that successful events are about much more than taking a booking.

You will be someone who can connect the detail of the planning process with the reality of the operation, anticipate potential issues and ensure everyone involved has the right information at the right time.

You will combine operational knowledge, attention to detail, customer service and sales ability to deliver successful events and contribute to the commercial success of the hotel.
