In a nutshell… Working for an Advisory business, you will lead the design and delivery of a pragmatic decarbonisation roadmap for a complex marketing media end-client with multiple estates. You will turn high-level sustainability ambition into focused, executable programmes that deliver real impact rather than noise. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, operating fractionally, that cuts across data, operations, procurement and governance to get meaningful decarbonisation moving.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Rapidly getting under the skin of a complex organisation, its estates and constraints, without creating unnecessary internal workload.
  • Translating senior sustainability ambition into a prioritised, realistic decarbonisation roadmap with clear phases, milestones and trade-offs.
  • Creating a roadmap for carbon and environment hotspots, identifying where material impact is possible now, needs a roadmap for future impact, or requires significant operational change to be considered.
  • Defining the right mix of suppliers, tools and platforms across measurement, reduction and verification of emissions.
  • Leading or supporting vendor selection processes, from requirements definition through to evaluation and recommendation.
  • Setting up light-touch but robust implementation governance to keep decarbonisation initiatives on track and accountable.
  • Working cross-functionally with commercial, technology and operations teams to integrate sustainability into existing workflows.
  • Challenging “green theatre” and ensuring this is not treated as a PR, comms or reporting-only exercise.
  • Stress-testing data, assumptions and business cases, and deciding how to move forward even there is imperfect data.
  • Providing clear, senior-level updates on progress, risks and decisions, with a focus on outcomes.

About you…

  • Proven experience leading delivery of decarbonisation and/or wider sustainability programmes in complex organisations.
  • Strong carbon accounting knowledge, with practical experience applying it to real-world estates and operations.
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of operations, data, procurement and governance.
  • Experienced in advising on the selection, management and challenging of third-party vendors.
  • Able to make pragmatic, defensible trade-offs under time pressure and with incomplete or ambiguous datasets.
  • Skilled at simplifying complexity for senior stakeholders and time-poor teams, focusing them on the few things that matter most.
  • Confident working in a fractional or consulting-style capacity, quickly building trust and momentum.
  • Motivated by tangible decarbonisation outcomes, not PR, comms or reporting for its own sake.
