We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Production Planning Coordinator to join a dynamic team. This role ensures that manufacturing operations align effectively with customer demands through the creation and management of efficient production schedules for both standard and custom products.
Job purpose: Production Planning Coordinator
You will coordinate the planning of varied production runs, from repeat orders to bespoke customer requirements. A key focus will be optimising the use of existing components and materials to manufacture new parts cost-effectively whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
- Design and implement detailed production schedules for both standard and custom products to meet customer demands whilst optimising efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, material shortages, or operational interruptions
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
- Collaborate effectively with sales and product development teams to forecast future production requirements
- Analyse production specifications and plant capacity to determine optimal resource requirements for varied product mixes
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, with particular attention to component reusability
- Compile and analyse production data to support continuous improvement initiatives and cost optimisation
- Manage and administer the in-house system for incoming and outgoing orders
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support operational transparency
- Identify and drive improvements in production planning processes and procedures
- 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing pr production environments, preferably in job-shop or custom manufacturing operations
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination with exposure to varied product requirements
- Understanding of manufacturing processes for precision components, preferably within regulated or high-quality industries
- Experience with production planning software and ERP/MRP systems
- Excel Skills, and data analysis functions along with a strong knowledge of Microsoft office packages
- Competency in database management and reporting systems
- Familiarity with inventory management principles and practices
