About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a hands-on, all-round maintenance role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly. You'll be involved in day-to-day reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of plant, equipment and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with broad practical skills who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across plant, machinery and site facilities
  • Respond to breakdowns and fault-find to get equipment back up and running with minimal downtime
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep equipment in good working order
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment when required
  • Support minor project and improvement work as directed
  • Keep basic maintenance records and logs up to date
  • Carry out work in line with health and safety procedures at all times
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers when specialist support is needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment
  • Cover and support colleagues where needed and contribute positively to the team

About You

Essential:

  • Some previous experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
  • Practical, hands-on approach with good all-round maintenance skills
  • Ability to fault-find and problem-solve on a variety of equipment
  • Good communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitude
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical systems
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
