About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a hands-on, all-round maintenance role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly. You'll be involved in day-to-day reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of plant, equipment and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with broad practical skills who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across plant, machinery and site facilities
- Respond to breakdowns and fault-find to get equipment back up and running with minimal downtime
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep equipment in good working order
- Assist with the installation of new equipment when required
- Support minor project and improvement work as directed
- Keep basic maintenance records and logs up to date
- Carry out work in line with health and safety procedures at all times
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers when specialist support is needed
- Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment
- Cover and support colleagues where needed and contribute positively to the team
About You
Essential:
- Some previous experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
- Practical, hands-on approach with good all-round maintenance skills
- Ability to fault-find and problem-solve on a variety of equipment
- Good communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitude
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance
- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
